Helge Wurdemann is Professor of Robotics at University College London, leading research in soft haptics and adaptive robotic systems. He co-directs the Intelligent Mobility lab (IM@UCL), operating a full-scale driving simulator for human-centred mobility research. His Soft Haptics group develops stiffness-controllable, shape-changing robotic mechanisms that bridge rigid and soft robotics, integrating advanced AI-driven control. He has authored over 120 peer-reviewed publications, including papers in Nature Communications and leading IEEE and ASME journals. A former Turing Fellow at The Alan Turing Institute, he has held senior roles within the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society and co-chaired ICRA 2023.
