Biography

Dr Ildar Farkhatdinov is a Lecturer in Robotics at the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) and an Honorary Lecturer at the Department of Bioengineering of Imperial College London. His primary research interests are in the field of human-robot/computer interaction, in particular, haptics, teleoperation, human sensory-motor system, as well as design and control of robotic systems. Before joining QMUL he was a research associate at Imperial College of London where he was involved in human-robot interaction research in European projects BALANCE, SYMBITRON and COGIMON. He got his PhD in Robotics from University Pierre and Marie Curie, Paris VI Sorbonne (France), M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Korea University of Technology and Education (South Korea), and B.Sc. in Automation and Control from Moscow State University of Technology STANKIN (Russia). He currently works on human balance control and its implementation for lower limb exoskeletons.
